Caring for Bamboo Bedding is Super Easy
Caring for bamboo bedding does not have to be a complicated process. Actually it is as easy as counting 1, 2, 3. These premium quality linens don’t require more tender loving care than other premium sheets on the market. You simply need to remember three simple things and your sheets will stay fresh and pristine for many many nights to come.
No need to spend money on dry cleaning. Bamboo bedding is machine washable. From the duvet covers to the pillowcases, bamboo linens can hold up to the wash cycle.
This is a material that is extremely strong and durable so there is no need to treat it like silk. Other than towels, you can even wash your bamboo pillowcases, shams and sheets together with other similar linens and colored laundry. No need to wash separately from the rest of your laundry. A normal or if your prefer a gently wash cycle is perfectly fine. For blankets that have a knitted weave, its recommended that you use a laundry bag to prevent snags from occurring.
High Heat and Hot Water
It’s perfectly ok to wash your bamboo linens in cold water and tumble dry on a low dryer setting. Bamboo is a super soft material that has natural antimicrobial properties.
Using really high heat or hot water is not necessary to kill germs and hot water can increase the chances of the fabric pilling. A warm or cold water cycle is all you will need to get your linens squeaky clean and tumble drying on a low to medium setting will keep your linens soft and wrinkle free.
Use of Chemicals
Never ever use harsh chemicals because they will affect the quality of your bamboo linens. The super soft natural fibers of the bamboo material will begin to break down reducing the natural organic properties of this wonderful fabric.
Products with bleach or chlorine, fabric softeners, or even dryer sheets are not recommended. These items inhibits the natural moisture wicking properties of bamboo and can cause discolorations and pilling. Instead use a gentle liquid detergent to keep your linens in great shape.
So lets recap. Bamboo is machine washable, can be washed in a warm or cold water cycle and the use of harsh chemicals is strictly prohibited. Remembering these three simple tips on how to care for your bamboo bedding will ensure long lasting enjoyment.
